Alluvium is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license. You are free to use our content as you see fit, provided that you credit the original author and the journal. Authors retain copyright on their works.

In terms of images used on the site, we strive to find images licensed under similar Creative Commons systems. The journal itself is classed as a Collective Work in Creative Commons rubric and so we can reproduce any CC image.

Where a free image is not available, we will reproduce copyrighted images under the terms of “fair dealing” provisions enshrined in copyright law, but only when it is necessary to illustrate the scholarly point being made. Nonetheless, as a non-profit, zero-revenue entity, we cannot defend lawsuits. If you own the copyright to an image and want it removed, please contact us and it will be taken down.
